About

Hi, and thank you for visiting my blog! This is one of two blogs that I have on WordPress. It is a compilation of my herbal endeavors, suggestions on wellness & nutrition, and life as a mother/wife, & environmentalist.

My name is Anne & I am a mother, wife, gardener, and now herbalist!! My connection with nature has opened my eyes, heart, and soul to the wondrous reciprocities we have to the natural world and its vast intricacies, essences, and beauty.

My dream is to one day be able to own a small apothecary shop, where I can share my devotion and knowledge of herbs and tea as well as, their benefits and various uses. Since beginning my studies with the Herbal Academy online, I have incorporated drinking herbal tea into my daily routine, and I use it as my go-to for all my family’s acute ailments. More recently I have started making tinctures & oil infusions which are now a part of my daily wellness regimen.

Recently I have started Anne’s Backyard Herbal LLC after starting to create herbal tinctures, glycerites, & oil infusions. They are offered online at my Etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/AnnesBackyardHerbal

The healing affects of herbs have given me a way to naturally assist my body with its abilities to rejuvenate and strengthen my immune system. There is nothing more soothing at night, in my opinion, than a warm cup of herbal nourishment!๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒน๐Ÿต

Please feel free to contact me with any questions!

My other blog: https://adaughtershero.wordpress.com/ is the story of my father. He died suddenly when I was 15, and I am documenting his story from my, his youngest daughter’s, perspective. Please visit and read; it begins with the oldest post first. To read from the beginning you will need to scroll a bit๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ“–.

My Blog๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“‘ is an ongoing journal to document my path as a mother, herbalist, and nutrition advocate. My father’s death helped me realize the importance of writing for those we leave behind. My posts include:

  • Herbal Monographs
  • Thoroughly researched herbal information
  • Wellness/Nutrition advice
  • Reflections on books I’ve read, life, and parenting
  • Personal photography
  • Poems & drawings
  • Gardening advice & stories

Thank you again for visiting & have a wonderful day!

“May the environment enrapture you and give you a fuller life through its beauty that is natural, boundless, and essential!”

Love๐Ÿ’ž,

Anne๐Ÿฆ‹๐ŸŒปโ˜ฏ๏ธ

The research I have compiled is not a treatment or cure. It is based on information I have gathered and should be read as a suggestion/basic information for educational purposes.

If you have not used herbs and are unsure about possible side effects please contact a licensed medicinal herbalist or medical doctor. Most herbs are not recommended for women who are pregnant/breastfeeding.

  1. Nice to meet you! I have been a lot more into herbs after my son had encephalitis. He has been seeing a holistic doctor. It has made a big difference in his recovery. Good luck on your studies!

  2. What a delightful blog, and must drop into your other place for my father died just six weeks after I had my twelfth birthday. Anyway, mustn’t forget that the reason I came here was to thank you for your recent decision to follow Learning from Dogs. Very much appreciated!

    1. Thank you as well! I was following you on my other blog as well and you shared some of that story with me. It was very touching, and I want to focus on this blog now so I am working on reconnecting with the blogs on here that I cherished on the other blog. โค๏ธ~Anne
